Handling & reconstitution

From our fridge to your bench, in six steps.

How to receive, store and reconstitute a lyophilized vial. Handling only: we do not provide protocols, doses or administration routes. Products are for in-vitro research.

Receiving a Peptency box from the cold-chain carton
STEP 1
Receive

Check the cold pack is still cool and the seal intact. Scan the QR on the label: the report for your lot opens.

STEP 2
Store

Lyophilized: 2-8 °C, or -20 °C for long term. Keep in the box, away from light, until you need it.

Drawing bacteriostatic water into a syringe
STEP 3
Draw the water

Swab both stoppers. Draw the volume of bacteriostatic water you chose with the calculator below, from the inverted water vial.

Adding the water slowly along the inside wall of the vial
STEP 4
Add along the wall

Needle through the stopper, tip against the glass. Let the water run down the inside wall onto the powder, slowly.

Swirling a reconstituted Peptency vial
STEP 5
Swirl, never shake

Roll the vial gently until the solution is clear. Shaking damages the peptide. Allow a few minutes if needed.

STEP 6
Store

Back in the box, back in the fridge. Reconstituted: 2-8 °C, up to 4 weeks. No freeze-thaw cycles.
